Hello, I’m Erin… Teacher, mum, wife, foster carer, breast cancer warrior, wild swimmer, artist, musical lover and celebrant! (Not necessarily in that order!)
My background is in education. I have been a teacher since 2001 when I started my career as a primary school teacher. It was teaching English that I developed my love for reading and writing poetry and narrative fiction and for reading aloud and singing assemblies! In 2016 I moved to secondary teaching to pursue my love of art and design. I especially love print making and ceramics. It is a privilege to support teenagers navigate what can be a really tricky time; whilst they test my abilities to deliver to what can at times be a fairly tough audience!
Now well into my third decade of teaching, I am experienced in speaking to large audiences and controlling unruly crowds! I find it an absolute honour to create and deliver one of a kind ceremonies to mark milestone moments.
Being a celebrant gives me the opportunity to use both my love of creative writing and my desire to get to know new people, figuring out what they are all about and what is important to them.
I am a people person; positive, empathetic and enthusiastic. I believe the real key to being a fabulous celebrant is being diplomatically nosey- a skill I have been honing for a lifetime!
